Including a dog in a wedding isn’t about whether they can attend. It’s about understanding how long they can remain comfortable, what will challenge them, and where their limits are likely to sit once the day begins to stretch.
Those limits are shaped by more than training alone. Breed tendencies, physical size, history, recovery time, tolerance to prolonged stimulation, and environmental factors such as temperature all play a role - particularly during warmer months, when heat can accumulate quietly and have a significant impact on comfort and regulation.
This service is shaped around that reality. Planning focuses on anticipation rather than reaction, allowing decisions to be made with clarity rather than pressure. The structure that follows exists to support those decisions, so care can remain steady, appropriate, and responsive as the day unfolds.

The Essentials underpin every Hounds & Heritage experience.
It has been shaped through extensive experience within the wedding industry, across a wide range of venues, schedules, and individual pet needs.
Pets are included as family, not as an addition to be managed. Time, rest, and familiarity are thoughtfully balanced throughout the day, so couples can remain fully present, confident their pet is cared for with the same importance as every other part of the celebration.
Care defined by experience, with welfare at its core.

The Essentials · Core Inclusions
Shaping the experience is about creating something that feels personal from the outset.
Time is spent understanding how you want your dog to be involved, what matters most to you both, and where support will make the biggest difference across the day. That groundwork allows the experience to feel considered rather than prescriptive, with space for individuality rather than a one-size approach.
The pace of a wedding day isn’t linear. There are stretches of calm, then bursts of attention. Familiar faces come and go. Spaces change. Energy builds, softens, and builds again. Some dogs take all of this in their stride for longer.
Others enjoy being part of things in smaller doses. Many sit somewhere in between, involved for as long as it feels comfortable for them.
Care adapts quietly as those needs change, allowing involvement to shift without pressure. Inclusion is shaped by comfort and wellbeing rather than duration or expectation, so each dog can remain part of the day in a way that feels supportive, respectful, and genuinely right for them.
What happens when you need more than the core service?
When more support is needed, care can be extended beyond the core service. This might include additional time, travel, or arrangements for more than one pet, helping dogs remain comfortable and settled while giving couples the freedom to focus on their day, knowing everything is being gently taken care of.

Rather than a standard booking request, enquiries begin with a short set of considered questions. This allows Hounds & Heritage to understand your dog, your plans, and whether the level of care required can be properly supported on the day.
